Allometry of enzymatic and oxidase activities: a multi-tissue approach in birds
Barbe Jessica, Voituron Yann & Roussel Damien
Measurements of the enzymatic (enzymology, spectrophotometric assay) and oxidase (oxygraphy) activities of mitochondrial complexes (complexes I, II, IV and glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase) were carried out on 3 tissues mainly involved in the basal metabolism: skeletal muscle (pectoral or gastrocnemius), heart and liver, in 9 to 12 bird species (15g to 160kg)
